SCI is excited to hire a Software Engineer for our client in Bristol, CT. We are looking for that experienced Java developer who has a passion for sports. This is a long-term contract role.
Software Engineer
24+ month contract

Job Responsibilities:
- Participate in the full software lifecycle, including requirements gathering, design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance of systems that support or enhance applications (50%).
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex engineering challenges in high-traffic web applications and APIs, collaborating with the team and participating in an on-call rotation (30%).
- Innovate and implement solutions to improve the scalability, resilience, and reliability of the data platform while researching and adopting new technologies (20%).
Must-Haves:
- At least 2 years of experience in Java development, with familiarity in building high-volume, cached, fault-tolerant, multi-threaded, and scalable systems.
- Hands-on experience with Java and open-source technologies like Spring, Tomcat, MySQL, Kafka, and Elasticsearch.
- Knowledge of best practices in the full application development lifecycle, including unit testing, code reviews, and documentation.
- Strong analytical, debugging, and troubleshooting skills, with excellent communication and attention to detail.
- Passion for sports and ability to work onsite in Bristol, CT, for training and team collaboration.
- Preferred: Cloud experience, background in entertainment or media, and familiarity with large-scale enterprise environments.
